NEDA VIII Receives P2 Million For First Four KR2 Projects

NEDA Regional Office VIII Director Buenaventura C. Go-Soco, Jr. officially received from NEDA Director General Romulo Neri the amount of Two Million Two Hunderd Sixty Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty Four Pesos (P2,269,734) for the funding of the first four approved projects for Eastern Visayas under the NEDA-KR2 Program. This was in a ceremonial turn-over last January 29, 2007 at NEDA sa Pasig.

The four projects approved for funding were as follows:

a) Seeweed and Oyster Culture of the local government of Capoocan, Leyte - P326,865;

b) Baybay Delights: LSU Developed Jackfruit Products in the Market of the Leyte State University (LSU) - P999,600;

c) Probiotic White Cheese of LSU - P443,269; and

d) Eucheuma Production, Processing and Marketing of the Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) - P500,000.

The proponents of the above projects will initially receive eighty percent (80%) of the total amount upon execution of MOA with NEDA Regional Office and other documentary requirements. The balance of twenty percent (20%) will be given in the final release.
