TELETECH NOW HIRING IN TACLOBAN

The Provincial Government of Leyte in partnership with Teletech, a leading provider of customer management and business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions based in Manila and Dumaguete which has headquarters in Denver, Colorado, USA conducted series of Orientation Seminar and Job Fair at the University of the Philippines-Visayas, Tacloban Campus (UPVTC) Multipurpose Hall, Magsaysay corner Sto. Niño Extension last April 25, 2006.  The one-day event covered the conduct of orientation seminar, first and second level interviews, online application and computer simulation.

According to DTI, out of 208 registered applicants, 130 were initially interviewed.  From the 130, 72 passed the initial interview but only 67 were able to pass the Accent Conversational English (ACE) Test.

However, due to limited time, the 67 passers will still have to undergo the Match Point and Final Interview process on the next visit of the Teletech Recruitment Group.  The match point level is actually the “Computer-Based Test/Simulation” wherein; applicants will be tested on their computer literacy, coordination, situational analysis, judgement, and patience skills among others.

DTI also said (during the last RITECC meeting) that this one-day activity is just an initial activity for the series of job fairs that Teletech is set to hold in Leyte’s major municipalities and in other parts of Eastern Visayas.

If by luck, Region VIII was able to produce a high turnout of qualified applicants and Teletech is impressed of the outcome of these chain of job fairs all over the region, it will likely open a 200-seat call center at the ICT Park in Pawing, Palo, Leyte which will provide jobs for our local talents.

This means, “EASTERN VISAYAS IS READY FOR IT!”
